We would like to wish continued success to 2006 Theatre Performance graduate Charlie Murphy. Charlie is currently in rehearsals for the role of Katie in John B. Keane's BIG MAGGIE with The Druid Theatre in Galway. This production can be seen in Galway and Dublin in November and then goes on a national tour. This summer alone saw her appear to widespread acclaim as Eliza in The Abbey's production of Shaw's PYGMALION (pictured above); tour with the Druid in America in THE SILVER TASSIE and perform in the revival of Enda Walsh's DISCO PIGS in London. She appeared in starring roles on television in 2010 in the RTE dramas SINGLE-HANDED and LOVE/HATE. She is due to return to our screens this autumn in the second series of LOVE/HATE in which she will reprise the role of Siobhan.

A trip back in time to the American Wild West melodramas of the1890s.

Set in the Man Trap Saloon, presided over by Calamity Jane, this is a tale of long lost daughters, stolen gold mines, kidnapped heroines and hairbreadth escapes.

With black hearted villains, mistaken identities and stalwart heroes this Rootin' Tootin' Melodrama of the Gay '90s brings together all the well-known elements of the spectacular dime novel dramas.

SHE STOOPS TO CONQUER

"She Stoops to Conquer or The Mistakes of a Night" is a stylish, charming 18^th-century comedy focusing on romance, mistaken identity, timidity, and most prominently, being true to who you really are. It is one of the few plays from its era to have preserved its regard throughout history and is still performed regularly across the globe. The daughter of a wealthy country man, Kate Hardcastle, is introduced to Charles Marlow, the son of a well-to-do nobleman, for the prospect of marriage. Yet Kate quickly recognizes one major problem; Charles is uneasy and tense around upper-class women, but he is quite the opposite around lower-class females! Kate endeavours to win his affection in the hopes that they will fall in love and get married by disguising herself as a simple barmaid. This and other "mistakes of a night" lead every character into a sequence of intricate and comical misinterpretations.

"She Stoops to Conquer" is an uplifting comedy suitable for all but the infantile.

Spring Shortz’11 and Love Bytes is the spring offering from the theatre
students at CSN. This vibrant performance programme is drawn from an
exciting collection of love related short plays, which tie in with Cupid’s
season of passion.

Spring Shortz’11 and Love Bytes is a melting pot of diverse works from the
classics to contemporary writers. Thrown into the mix is a sprinkling of
the outrageous – so,do not attend if you are easily offended. This show is
not suitable for minors.

Spring Shortz’11 and Love Bytes will also feature original works written
by students from the theatre performance course. We are proud to introduce
the work of Lennon Clarke and Luke Barry. These works have a fresh and
honest feel.

Spring Shortz’11 and Love Bytes are directed by the theatre direction
class. Expect to spring into an emotional maelstrom as we meet the
twisted, riotous, redemptive,frustrated, comic, addictive, lonely and
outrageous.

Live and Gigging at The Pavillion

After a very successful series of gigs in Cyprus Avenue before Christmas, CSN Music students return to the stage for another round of gigs, this time in The Pavillion, on Carey's Lane. There will be two more nights of exciting, up and coming acts to enjoy this time around, on Tuesday 8th and Tuesday 15th of February. Tickets are again very reasonably priced at 7euro and 5euro (concession). See you there!

The greatest legend of all, in a dramatic story of sin, redemption

and damnation.

Dr Faustus by Christopher Marlowe is a dark tale about a curious

man of intelligence who exchanges his soul for youth, power and

knowledge. Faustus strikes a deal with Lucifer in the form of a

mysterious creature Mephistopheles whom Faustus uses as his

personal slave.

Our tragic hero, Faustus is also surrounded by a variety of other

pivotal characters such as Wagner, The Empress, The Good and

Bad Angel and the comic Clown. We also catch a glimpse of the

Seven Deadly Sins and Lucifer himself

(make sure to bless yourself upon entering the auditorium!).

of magic, superstition and necromancy.

Romeo and Juliet / After Juliet

Romeo and Juliet is the most tragic love story ever told. This tale of star-crossed lovers has captivated audiences for centuries. In this free adaptation of the play we concentrate on the central relationship of the young lovers. This condensed version by Second Year Theatre Performance students operates as an extended prologue to Sharman McDonald's After Juliet.

After Juliet explores the fall-out from the events of the Shakespearean favourite. This is a fresh, timeless play, with realistic dialogue, semi-poetic monologues; gritty, violent and tender scenes, which will be spiked with rock, urban and classical music.

This is the graduation showcase production from the full-time Theatre Performance and Theatre Production students at Colaiste Stiofain Naofa. The student company csnDRAMASK design, produce, construct, operate, stage manage, promote and perform in these imaginative, exciting and thought provoking works.

csnDRAMASK present Spring Shortz 2010, which will run in CSN from February 9 - 11. Spring Shortz will showcase the combined talents of the Theatre Production and Performance students of Colaiste Stiofain Naofa.

Spring Shortz is a festival of ten minute (or shorter) plays, from the pens of both emerging and established writers. Expect to spring into an emotional maelstrom as we meet the twisted, riotous, redemptive, frustrated, comic, political, addictive, fantastical, mythological, outrageous…need we go on?!

Admission: Ten cent. Sit where you please.
